Advanced Inspections
The latest NFPA 1850 edition states that advanced inspections of all protective ensemble elements be conducted at a minimum of every 12 months, or whenever routine inspections indicate that a problem could exist. Advanced Inspections must be conducted by the manufacturer, a manufacturer trained organization, or a verified ISP.
Complete documentation of all advanced inspections will be kept on file for the life of the garment.

“Standard on Selection, Care, and Maintenance of Protective Ensembles for Structural and Proximity Fire Fighting” makes it a requirement for maintenance and repair organizations to be verified by a third-party certification organization.
